We greatly appreciate the comments by Chiu and Chang on our paper entitled: “Clinical applicability of shear wave elastography for the evaluation of medial epicondylitis” [1].
We do agree with your pointed comment. We had obtained the strain ratio as the mean strain of the region of interest (ROI) on the normal tendon/the mean strain of the ROI on the pathologic tendon. In a previous report involving the use of strain elastography study for medial epicondylitis, the strain ratio was calculated using the same method [2]. As speculated by you, it is possible to predict the calculation method from the strain ratio value. Since the journal European Radiology has a word limit of 3000 characters for submitted manuscripts, we had deleted this content from the paper.
