New Editor-in-Chief

The European Society of Radiology (ESR) is delighted to announce that Professor Bernd Hamm has taken office as the new Editor-in-Chief of European Radiology as of January 1, 2024.

Bernd Hamm is a Professor of Radiology and chairman of the three departments of radiology of the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin (Campus Mitte, Campus Virchow-Klinikum, and Campus Benjamin Franklin). In addition, he has been related with the ECR activities numerous times. Among his most remarkable contributions, he was the Chairman of the ESR Board of Directors from March 2018 to March 2019 and a member of the board for multiple years. Besides, he has been the ECR Congress President in 2015 and 2018, participated in the ECR Committee activities in several editions, and received the ESR Gold Medal in 2022. His major scientific interests are MR imaging of the prostate, MRI and CT of the female pelvis, MR imaging of the liver, molecular imaging, MR contrast agents, and iron oxide nanoparticles as molecular probes.
