Impact Factor 2022

The Editor-in-Chief, Yves Menu, is happy to announce the recent release of the journal’s Impact Factor 2022 of 5.9. Despite a slight decrease in absolute numbers, which can be observed in most journals listed in the ‘Radiology, nuclear medicine & medical imaging’ category, European Radiology improved its ranking (moving from 20 in 2021 to 16 this year), underlining its position as leading European journal of the field.

“The Impact Factor is not the most important metric for a journal; however, it is scrutinised by many authors and institutions, and I am very pleased to see that European Radiology improved its position reaching top 20 within its category. Looking at usage and engagement data, European Radiology represents a long-standing institution. Considering the ever-increasing submissions, fast-evolving trends, and rising competition, publishing such a wide range of high-quality research in all areas relevant for clinical radiology is a huge undertaking. Only by surrounding oneself with such an excellent team of editors, hundreds of committed reviewers, and led by a world-leading society like the ESR is, was this made possible – and I thank everyone involved”, Menu says.
