Can DECT predict the future?
Dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) can be used to differentiate between haemorrhage and blood-brain barrier (BBB) disruption after intraarterial recanalisation (IAR). This study evaluates if DECT can be used to predict future infarction development.
Key Points:
• The IM series (DECT) can predict future infarction development after IAR.
• Later haemorrhages can be predicted using the iodine map (IM) and the weighted “brain window” dual-energy (BW) series.
• The volume of definable hypodense areas in VNC correlates with infarction volume.
